Lake Eyasi

Lake Eyasi is a quiet and beautiful soda lake located in northern Tanzania, not far from the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It lies at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, surrounded by wide open plains and rocky hills.

Lake Eyasi is known for its peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty. The lake is shallow and changes size with the seasons, attracting many birds, especially flamingos and pelicans. The sunrise and sunset views here are especially stunning.

What makes Lake Eyasi unique is its cultural experience. The area is home to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities. The Hadzabe are one of the last hunter gatherer tribes in Tanzania, and visitors can learn about their traditional way of life, including hunting and gathering. The Datoga are skilled blacksmiths and pastoralists, known for their craftsmanship and strong cultural traditions.
